Zeta White Elephant Gift Exchange

Hello Brothers and Zeta Sisters!
Fall Semester is coming to an end and Christmas is just around the corner! Let us all celebrate as one big family by getting together before Finals Week at the Yellow House to have our annual White Elephant Gift Exchange on Friday, Dec 11 6-10pm.

What is White Elephant Gift Exchange?

According to Wikipedia, A white elephant gift exchange is a popular holiday party game in the United States, with many variations in name and game play.
Basically, everyone is required to bring a gift that is unisex and at least 10$ in value. What happens then is that we put all the gifts in one pile and all the participants get to choose a number from a hat. The person with the lowest number gets to go first. The first participant chooses any one of the gifts from the pile and unwraps it in front of everyone. Next, the participant with the second lowest number goes and he/she has an option of stealing the gift that was revealed or he/she could choose a gift from the pile. And so on and so on until everyone goes. If the participant chooses to steal, the person whose gift is stolen now repeats his turn and either:
1) steals another person's gift or
2) unwraps a new gift.
Gifts can only be stolen twice. The participant that steals a gift a second time gets to keep that gift.

Other than the gift exchange, We will also be having a Ginger Bread House Decorating contest and singing Christmas Carols!

To make the night even more festive, each family will be required to bring one dessert to share with everyone.

Brothers' Event Only: Second Annual 3-on-3 Zeta Basketball Tournament

What up Bro’s

We will be having our Second Annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament
Fundraiser on December 13, 2009 at the Goldmine gym from 9:00 am –
1:00 pm. The tournament will be similar to the one we had last summer.

To register, download the registration form in the Yahoo or Google
groups and turn it into the event coordinator Jake “Mumble” Cha with
the small entrance fee of $50. Each team will consist of a five
player max roster. A round robin system will be used to determine the
seeding of the teams; from there we will move into a two game
elimination bracket.

I hope to see all of the teams that participated last year to come
out and compete once again with the newly added teams on December
13th. It will be a fun and competitive event. Hit me up with any
questions or concern’s that you may have. Thank you.
